What you see there is simply conventional* jazz guitar playing. He's good, sure, but there are many others of that standard, famous or not-so-famous. (Personal styles differ, so it makes little sense to talk of relative "good" and "bad" when you get to that level.)

Welcome to the world of jazz guitar.

*The Bach-style section is less conventional, but not much. More exciting, IMO, because you can tell he's winging it to some extent - it seems to be right on the edge of his inventive skills, with the odd mistake (and accompanying grin). But that's when jazz is good, when there's that element of danger...

And it reminds me that Bach was known as a great improviser in his day.

I've been a fan for a while.... He's def very good. I like how he works his way through tunes, adlibs big time.... A lot of fun to watch....
