Bah. I'm still getting strange audio pauses, too.

It runs fine under Vista, but I don't believe the drivers for 7 are up to dat as of yet. I'm looking into something that will work, but right now, it's not working on W7.
I went through this too. Installed Windows 7...technet version then re-installed my Line6 Toneport UX2. Not a good combination...

I went back to XP. It runs fine there and until I'm absolutely certain they've got the bugs figured out (been quite a while now with not much progress from them) I'm sticking with Windows XP.

Well, my audio pauses are a result of DPC latency, which is not really a fault of the Line 6 stuff in this case (it's my video driver). Recording works fine; it's just streaming audio that has an issue, and I think I've just about got that tackled, too.

So I can fully recommend moving to Windows 7 (with a Pod X3, anyway).

For kicks, you might try running this:

http://www.thesycon.de/eng/latency_check.shtml

It's just an .exe; no installer or anything.

See if you get a bunch of red spikes WITHOUT the Line 6 stuff plugged in. If so, you have what I had: A bad driver causing DPC latency which in turn broke the audio intermittently. In my case, it was the Nvidia driver for my graphics card.

That's not my problem though.
My problem is that sometimes the audio just locks up. As in, no audio can be played by the system anymore, even if I turn off and unplug the unit, and reconnect it.
I also can't switch to the onboard audio.
It's just locked completely.
All I can do then is reboot.
Funny enough it appears that in such a situation, ASIO still works. It's just all the standard Windows sounds, media player etc that don't work (which also means that these applications get stuck trying to play a sound).

That really sucks. Have you thought of going the partitioned HD way and leaving XP installed in it?

Oooh you have a Live, right? Aren't they doing a hardware fix for the audio dropout/lockup problem in that?

Ofcourse...
I never uninstall an OS, I just add new ones
My system currently has the following OSes installed:
XP Professional 32-bit
XP Professional x64
Vista Home Premium x64
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

So far the problem has only occured in Windows 7, so I don't think it's a hardware-related problem. I've had a similar problem with my onboard audio (Soundmax HD) in XP x64 in the early days. A driver update fixed the lockups eventually.

A few days ago, Line6 released new 4.0.2.7 drivers, which improve Windows 7 compatibility.
I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but I've had them installed for a few days now, and I haven't had a lock-up problem so far.

Nice! Thanks for the heads-up. I did break down and buy Pod Farm 2 at the reduced price.
