Best to mic bass amp, or line out?
Topic. Should I get a bass amp with line out, directly to mixer/recorder
or get more wattage & mic the amp? which produces better recordings?

I have developed a style of my own, I suppose, which creeps around ... I don't have to have too much technique for it. I've developed the parts of my technique that are useful to me. I'll never be a very fast guitar player. I don't really know what to say about my style. There's always a melodic intent in there. |

It go with one that as a direct output. That way you can run both - one through the direct output and one from a mic on the cab. Combined the two for a cool sound.

I've recorded in a studio with my past two bands, and both times they used a direct line.

Direct is best. Many microphones can't handle the low end.
IMO,the only time to mike is if you're using distortion, and maybe not even then. |

Direct is best. Direct and micing can be cool.
Even if you were micing, it's actually better to use lower volumes and let the mixer handle the level. |
