Best to mic bass amp, or line out?

Topic. Should I get a bass amp with line out, directly to mixer/recorder
or get more wattage & mic the amp? which produces better recordings?

David Gilmour: No, no definitely not. My technique is laughable at times. I have developed a style of my own, I suppose, which creeps around ... I don't have to have too much technique for it. I've developed the parts of my technique that are useful to me. I'll never be a very fast guitar player. I don't really know what to say about my style. There's always a melodic intent in there.

It go with one that as a direct output. That way you can run both - one through the direct output and one from a mic on the cab. Combined the two for a cool sound.

The bass player is the most important member of the band. Just ask one.
If you can read this, thank a teacher. Because its in English, thank a soldier.

I've recorded in a studio with my past two bands, and both times they used a direct line.

Direct is best. Many microphones can't handle the low end.

IMO,the only time to mike is if you're using distortion, and maybe not even then.

Direct is best. Direct and micing can be cool.

Even if you were micing, it's actually better to use lower volumes and let the mixer handle the level.
